About Aldercrest
Continuity Held with Care
We formed Aldercrest to give Malaysian family businesses a thoughtful, neutral partner for the conversations and plans that determine what happens next.

Where the Idea of Aldercrest Came From
Aldercrest grew out of a simple observation: family businesses in Malaysia are navigating succession with very few neutral, operationally focused guides. Advisors tend to approach these transitions from a legal or financial angle — which is necessary, but rarely sufficient. The relational and operational pieces often go unaddressed until they cause problems.
The name comes from the image of a hearth — a gathering place where families have always held their most important conversations. An alder is a resilient tree, known for taking root in difficult ground. We thought that combination captured what we aim to bring: warmth, steadiness and the ability to help families plant something that lasts.
We work with established businesses across the Klang Valley and beyond — manufacturing, retail, professional practices, agriculture, and others. Each situation is different. What stays constant is our commitment to moving at the family's pace, keeping people at the centre, and producing clear, usable plans.
Where matters reach beyond operational advisory — into legal structuring, financial planning or tax — we help families identify and engage the right regulated professionals rather than overstating what we do.
Our Mission

How We Work
Our Standards of Practice
These are the principles we hold ourselves to in every engagement, regardless of size or complexity.
Strict Confidentiality
All session content, documents and family information are held in confidence. We do not discuss client matters externally, and never without explicit consent.
Impartiality
We do not advocate for any individual family member or commercial outcome. Our role is to help the whole family navigate — not to steer the result.
Clear Scope
Each engagement has a defined scope and clear deliverables agreed in writing before work begins. We do not expand the scope without discussion.
Appropriate Referral
We clearly identify the boundaries of operational advisory and help families access regulated legal and financial expertise when their situation requires it.
Written Records
Working notes, summaries and plans are documented carefully. Families leave each engagement with something tangible and readable, not just recollections.
Open Communication
We keep families informed at each step and create space for questions. No family should feel unclear about where they are in the process.
Our Expertise
Operational Succession Advisory for Malaysian Family Businesses
Family businesses form the backbone of the Malaysian economy — from longstanding trading houses and manufacturing firms in the Klang Valley to professional practices and retail operations across Peninsular Malaysia. When the time comes to pass leadership to the next generation, the stakes are high on every level: commercial, operational and personal.
Aldercrest specialises in the operational and strategic dimension of succession. That means helping families think through who will take on which responsibilities, how those roles will be communicated and supported, and what practical steps a smooth handover involves. We facilitate the conversations that often stall when handled internally, and we help produce the written plans that give everyone clarity.
Our work complements — rather than replaces — the regulated professionals a family may need. A solicitor handles the legal structure. An accountant or financial planner addresses the ownership and tax dimension. Aldercrest addresses the operational and human side: how responsibilities shift, how readiness is built, and how communication within the family is kept honest and open during the transition.
Based in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, we work with family businesses of varying sizes and sectors. Each engagement is tailored to the family's stage and needs, with a service range that begins with a short readiness conversation and extends to an ongoing advisory arrangement for families navigating a longer, more complex transition.
